Hinchman's Two Goals Lead IWU to Women Soccer Win

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Junior Emily Hinchman had two goals and freshman Kate Dunaway scored what would be the game-winner as the No. 11-nationally ranked Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team downed Wisconsin-Whitewater, 3-1, at Neis Field on Thursday, September 15.

The Warhawks (2-3-0) scored first at the 18:47 mark when Emily Gerber had her fifth goal of the year on an unassisted tally.

Hinchman tied the game at 25:56 an an unassisted goal as she dribbled through defenders and shot in upper left corner.

Dunaway scored what proved to be the game-winner at 54:10 when she scored as she scored unassisted on a shot from the corner of the box.

Hinchman finished her second two-goal game of the season as she scored at the 69:42 mark off a cross from sophomore Hannah Ketterling.

The Titans (who improved to 4-1-0) outshot the Warhawks, 21-7, including a 14-3 margin in the second half.

Sophomore keeper Zoie Samaan made one save in 90 minutes for IWU while Jordan Myers made 10 saves for Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Illinois Wesleyan is back in action at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Neis Field against the No. 25-ranked University of Chicago.
