9/13/2011 9:26:00 PM

Box Score DECATUR, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team lost in three sets, all by the same 25-19 score, at Millikin in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin opener for both squads in Decatur, Ill., on Tuesday, Sept. 13.

The Titans had their four-match winning streak snapped and fell to 6-4 while Millikin improved to 8-1 overall.

"We were completely out of sync tonight," said IWU head coach Kim Nelson-Brown. "We lacked the decisiveness that we had over the weekend. Millikin played aggressively and put us on our heels from the beginning. We need to learn how to more quickly overcome moments like that."

Junior middle hitter Alex Hill and freshmen Maddie Greybar and Kinzie Schweigert all recorded eight kills each to pace IWU and Hill also contributed a team-high three blocks. As a team, IWU had a hitting percentage of .180 with 31 kills in 100 tries with 13 errors.

Sophomore libero Sarah Blum had eight defensive digs and Greybar had seven while sophomore setter Erin Wachtel delivered 21 assists.

Illinois Wesleyan returns to action on Friday, Sept. 16, at the DePauw Invitational in Greencastle, Ind. The Titans play Birmingham-Southern College at 3:30 p.m. (Eastern time) and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology at 5:30 p.m. (Eastern).
