BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team dug itself into a 6-0 hole after five innings and lost by a 7-3 score to Rockford College on Wednesday, May 4 at Horenberger Field.
The loss sends the IWU record to 22-13 while the Regents are 17-15.

Jeff Grodecki each had two hits in the loss. IWU scored all three of its runs in the sixth as sophomore catcher
A.J. Nathan led off with a walk and stole second. With one out, freshman designated hitter
Bobby Czarnowski walked to put runners at first and second before Grodecki singled through the left side to load the bases.

Johnathan Erickson single to left to score Nathan and leave the bases loaded and junior leftfielder
Mark McDermott also singled to left to score Czarnowski. Junior
Kevin Sullivan then pinch hit and brought home Grodecki with a sacrifice fly.
The Titans used nine pitchers and freshman starter Matthew Conrad (0-1) was saddled with the loss as he allowed a run in the first. The Regents had 12 hits, including three from Kevin Miller, who provided four runs batted in.
Illinois Wesleyan next hosts North Central in a key College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 7.
