CHICAGO, Ill. - Freshman
Molly McCready pitched a two hit shutout to lead Illinois Wesleyan to a 3-0 win the game two of a doubleheader at the U. of Chicago on April 30. The Titans managed only one hit in losing the opener, 1-0.
Illinois Wesleyan is now 19-15 while Chicago is 20-10.
McCready (6-4) struck out 12 and walked three. She now has 99 strikeouts this season, good for 10th most in an IWU single year, and the total ranks No. 14 among all IWU pitchers.

Kaity Crane singled home pinch runner
Amanda Fazzari and added two runs in the sixth when sophomore shortstop
Emma Clark got a two-out single to drive in a run and a double by freshman leftfielder
Allie Riordan brought home Clark.
In the opener, freshman pitcher
Victoria Whitaker (4-6) had the team's only hit, a sixth inning leadoff single, while shee scattered seven hits and walked one while striking out five.
TITAN NOTES: With a 6-8 final record in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin regular season, Illinois Wesleyan will not participate in the CCIW postseason tournament for the first time since 2005...Millikin and Carthage have 11 and 10 wins, and Wheaton, North Central and Elmhurst currently have seven wins to keep IWU out of the top four.
