CHICAGO, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team, trailing 6-1 after five innings, scored 15 runs in the final two innings, including 11 in the seventh frame, to gain a 16-6, seven-inning decision at North Park on Saturday, April 16.

In a battle of teams tied for second in the league, the Titans improved to 16-7 this season and 8-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Vikings fell to 20-6 overall and 7-3 in conference play.
The two teams will play a doubleheader at Noon on Sunday, April 17. They were to have played the two games today and the single game tomorrow.

Sophomore first baseman Kevin Callahan had three hits with two home runs and six RBI. Sophomore catcher A.J. Nathan and freshman Bobby Czarnowski each had three hits while senior centerfielder Ryan Hopp, sophomore shortstop Zach Scott and freshman second baseman Jonathan Erickson each had two hits as IWU had a 17-hit attack.

Junior righthander Joe Sweeney improved to 5-1 and he pitched the complete game, allowing eight hits and just two (of the six) earned runs while striking out two and walking none.
