Joe Sweeney struck out 10 in eight innings and junior leftfielder
Mark McDermott had three hits with two doubles and two runs batted in to lead the Illinois Wesleyan baseball team to a 7-4 win at Washington U. in St. Louis on Sunday, March 20.
The Titans improved to 6-4 while the Bears fell to 10-10.
Sweeney improved to 2-1 this season as he allowed five hits and three runs with three walks.

Ryan Hamm worked out of a two-on, nobody out ninth inning jam and earned his first collegiate save.

Zach Scott singled to right to score Nathan. After Hopp reached on an error, Scott scored on a wild pitch and McDermott drove home Hopp with his first double of the game.
The Titans play a pair of games at Horenberger Field next Saturday, March 26 - at 11 a.m. against Concordia Chicago and at 5 p.m. against Webster.
