ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Illinois Wesleyan head coach
Dennis Martel earned his 600th career win as Illinois Wesleyan beat Milwaukee School of Engineering, 11-4, on Saturday, March 19. The Titans gave up all unearned runs in a 5-3 loss to Washington U. later in the day in St. Louis, Mo.
In game one, IWU trailed by a 4-1 score in the top of the eighth after MSOE plated three runs to break a 1-1 tie. But the Titans scored 10 in the bottom of the eighth to take the 11-4 lead.
Senior righthander
Jason Pankau was the hard-luck loser in the second game as he struck out 12 and allowed only two walks, but four Titan errors led to all of the Bears' runs.
IWU scored its three runs in the eighth inning and had the bases loaded with one out but failed to get a hit that would tie the game.
