Kevin Callahan (three hits) and
Anthony Lopez (two hits) had five of IWU's eight hits.
The loss stalls head coach's
Dennis Martel's quest for 600th win. His 24-year career record now stands at 599-370-3.
The Titans scored five runs on four hits and two errors in the seventh inning. With one out,
Zach Scott walked and Lopez singled to left field.
Ryan Hopp reached on an error by the third baseman and Scott scored. Lopez then scored on a wild pitch.
Mark McDermott tripled down the leftfield line to score Hoppe and came home on a Callahan double.
Callahan went to third when
John Frueh singled through the left side and scored when
Kevin Sullivan reached on an error by the third baseman.
Anthony Kopp was the losing pitcher, surrendering six runs, three earned, on seven hits and striking out four in 2 2/3 innings.
Illinois Wesleyan, now 4-2, plays at Christian Brothers in Memphis, Tenn., Thursday at 2 p.m.
