JACKSON, Miss. - The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team split a pair of games on its southern trip, claiming a 7-5 10-inning win at Mississippi College before losing by a 15-4 score at Millsaps College.
The first game victory at Mississippi College (a make-up of Monday's rain out) was No. 599 in the 24-year career of head coach

Bobby Czarnowski doubled to left field and sophomore catcher
A.J. Nathan walked. After Czarnowski advanced to third on a wild pitch, senior
Jeff Grodecki pinch hit for freshman Jonathan Erickson and hit a double to right center that scored Nathan and Czarnowski.
Nick Mehn (1-0) pitched a 1-2-3 inning to close the game out and was the winning pitcher as he went 4 2/3 innings and allowed three runs on four hits. Senior
Jason Pankau was the starter and lasted 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on four hits.
Callahan had given the Titans a 5-2 lead in the seventh with a home run to rightfield after
Mark McDermott had reached on a single.
In the second game, No. 24-ranked Millsaps banged out 18 hits against three IWU pitchers.

Joe Sweeney (1-1) was the losing pitcher, surrendering seven runs (four earned) on eight hits in four innings.
