JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - Thirteen players scored, led by the 16 points from junior
Daniel Oswald, and the Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team improved to 2-0 with a 102-62 win over MacMurray in the first round of the 13th annual Bill Merris Tournament at Illinois College on Friday (Nov. 18).

Kevin Reed each scored 12 points in the rout that saw the Titans outrebound the Highlanders by a 41-24 margin. Sophomores

Victor Davis led IWU with eight and seven rebounds, respectively, as all 15 players for IWU saw at least 10 minutes of playing time.
Stephen Rudnicki handed out a team high five assists as the Titans shot .609 from the field (42 of 69) and connected on 11-of-21 from 3-point range (.524). IWU struggled at the free throw line, making only seven-of-14 shots.
MacMurray (0-2) was led by the 14-point effort of Brady Slagle. The Highlanders shot just .365 from the floor (19-of-52) and helped their offense by making 24-of-27 free throws (.889). As good as MacMurray was at the free throw line was offset by the 0-for-16 shooting from the 3-point area.
The Titans will play the host school, Illinois College, at 4 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 19) in the championship game. The Blueboys were 66-43 winners over Manchester Friday night as Brandon Berry scored 18 points and Craig Bals added 17.
