Titans Volleyball Wins Twice in Indiana

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ANDERSON, Ind. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team took victories over Anderson University (3-0) and Transylvania University (3-1) at O.C. Lewis Gymnasium in Anderson, Ind.

The Titans beat Anderson by scores of 25-22, 26-24 and 27-25 and downed the Pioneers by scores of 25-20, 18-25, 25-23, 26-24. IWU improved to 12-9 this season and eclipsed their 2010 win total of 11 victories.

"Our defense and passing kept us in the matches today," said Illinois Wesleyan head coach Kim Nelson-Brown. "It was nice to see us get back  to running our system and keeping the tempo."

Against Anderson, sophomore Stephanie Buhrow had 12 kills and three blocks while freshman Maddie Greybar and junior Katie Rhoades each had nine kills and freshman Kinzie Schweigert had eight.
Greybar had a team-high 17 digs with sophomore Sarah Blum adding 12 and sophomore Erin Wachtel providing 11 digs and 42 set assists.

Taylor Cox led the Anderson Ravens with 18 assists, 13 digs, two kills and Stephanie Weinman had 13 digs and five kills. Tayler Stone led the team with eight kills and two blocks and Molly DiRuzza also had eight kills, two assists and two digs. Jordan Stanley had 12 assists, three digs and Elizabeth Turner added six kills and three digs. Allee Donaghy added 12 digs and Kelly Roberts chipped in with eight digs and four kills.

In the Transylvania match, Greybar had 14 kills while Buhrow had 11 and Schweigert had nine.
Four players had double-figure digs, led by Wachtel with 17, Blum with 16 and Greybar with 11. Sophomore Miya Thalmann had 10 digs.
Wachtel had 36 set assists and junior middle hitter Alex Hill had eight blocks while Greybar had five. Hill's eight blocks is tied for sixth most in a four-set match at IWU since 2002.

The Titans return to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin action Tuesday night at 7 at North Park.
