WHEATON, Ill. - In a battle of two top-15 teams, the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team lost a 3-2 decision at Wheaton on a stormy, rainy Tuesday night (Oct. 25) at Wheaton's Joe Bean Stadium.
There were two lightning delays totaling 85 minutes that came with 2:52 left to be played in the first half. After the second delay, the remainder of the first half and the second half were played together with no halftime.
The No. 15-ranked Titans slip to 12-3-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the No. 7-ranked Thunder improved to 16-1-1 overall and 5-1-0 in the league.
Wheaton scored its first goal just 2:16 into the match as Anna Seabolt got her fifth goal of the year off an assist from Laura Karsten.
The Thunder made it 2-0 at 10:08 as Jaime Orewiler got her ninth goal of the season with assists going to Keri Shannon and Ali Kopelman.

Emily Hinchman got the Titans on the board with a shot that arced over the head of the keeper at 64:44 on an assist from senior
Molly O'Brien.
The Thunder collected its third goal at 84:53 when Orewiler scored for the second time as she drilled a low shot from 20 yards out that trickled under the gloves of IWU keeper
Renata Butikas.
Hinchman also got the Titans' other goal with 3:16 to play in the match (at 86:44).
IWU had six shots on goal compared to 10 for the Thunder. Butikas made four saves in the match for the Titans while Wheaton's Hilary Barreto had two saves and Kelsey Graham had two saves as they each played a half.
