Box Score BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team dipped to 14-13 overall and 2-4 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin after a 3-0 loss to Wheaton at the Shirk Center on Tuesday (Oct. 18).
The Thunder, who improved to 15-11 overall and 3-3 in the CCIW, won by scores of 25-21, 25-16, 25-20.
In the third set the Titans held early leads of 6-3 and 8-6 before being tied at 10-10. The Thunder then went on a 6-1 run to claim a 16-11 advantage. Illinois Wesleyan closed to within two points at 16-14 and again as late as 21-19 before Wheaton scored four of the last five points to win, 25-20.
The Titans were led in kills by freshman
Maddie Greybar and junior
Alex Hill with seven each while junior
Katie Rhoades got six. As a team, IWU had 35 kills and 26 errors in 132 attempts for a .068 attack percentage.

Sarah Blum led the team with nine defensive digs each and sophomore
Erin Wachtel had 18 set assists. Senior
Stacy Hassinger also provided 12 assists with five digs.
Illinois Wesleyan is off until next Tuesday (Oct. 25) when they play at CCIW foe Elmhurst, currently 21-4 overall and ranked No. 19 in the latest national NCAA Dvision III poll.
