DECATUR, Ill. - Junior center Ryan Connolly made all 10 of his field goal attempts and had a career-high 24 points in 17 minutes off the bench to lead the Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team to a 75-56 win over Millikin at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Ill., on Wednesday, Jan. 12.

The Titans improved to 11-3 overall and 2-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while Millikin lost for the ninth straight time and fell to 1-12 overall and 0-3 in the league.

Junior Jordan Zimmer had five 3-pointers and finished with 15 points while seniors Travis Rosenkranz and Doug Sexauer each added 10 points.

Connolly's previous career best in scoring was 16 points against MacMurray at the Shirk Center earlier this season (Dec. 11, 2010).

The Titans led the Big Blue by only four points at intermission, 37-33, but outmanned the Big Blue by a 38-23 margin in the final 20 minutes. The Titans scored the first eight points in the second half to stake itself to a commanding 45-33 edge. Millikin's last lead in the game came with 2:14 to go in the first half at 31-30.

Led by seven boards from junior John Koschnitzky, Illinois Wesleyan held a 33-25 edge in rebounding over the Big Blue.

Illinois Wesleyan made 27 of 52 from the field (51.9 percent) and connected on 11 of 21 3-point free tries (52.4 percent) while making 10 of 16 free throws (62.5 percent).

The Big Blue shot 45.7 percent (21 of 46) from the field and made just three of 14 (21 percent) from beyond the 3-point arc. Millikin made 11 of 18 free throws (61 percent).

Kyle Taylor scored 24 in a losing effort for Millikin and had 17 of those in the first half.

Illinois Wesleyan next plays at home against Elmhurst at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15.
