PELLA, Iowa - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team lost in three sets to the host school in the Central College Classic in Pella, Iowa, on Friday, Sept. 24.

The Titans fell to 6-8 as they lost by scores of 17-25, 20-25, 22-25.

"We had moments that we looked really good, but then turned around and gave up five or six unearned points," said IWU head coach Kim Nelson-Brown. "Again, we are still struggling with consistency and at times, lacking a killer instinct."

Senior Lori Johnson had nine kills to pace the Titans, while junior Gaby Johnson had six kills and freshman Stephanie Buhrow and sophomores Alex Hill and Eryn Finet each had five kills.

Freshmen Sarah Blum and Erin Wachtel led Illinois Wesleyan with 14 and 12 digs, respectively, and junior setter Stacy Hassinger had 25 assists and eight digs.

The Titans take on Buena Vista at 9:30 a.m. and Rockford College at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday in the tournament.
