CHICAGO, Ill. - Senior midfielder Tom Marlow's goal late in the first half gave Illinois Wesleyan University a 1-0 win over the University of Chicago in men's soccer action Saturday, Sept. 11, at Stagg Field.

Marlow collected a deflected ball 30 yards from the Chicago net and fired a shot past junior goalkeeper Chris Giusto at the 39:47 mark.

The Titans, with their first win of the season after three losses, outshot Chicago (2-2) 11-9 as the Maroons suffered their second 1-0 setback in four days.

Titan netminder Frank Gorg stopped four shots en route to the shutout. Giusto was credited with one save.

IWU hosts Washington U. at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Neis Field.
