KENOSHA, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team slipped to 10-11 overall and 5-3 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin after a 16-6 loss at Carthage on April 11.

Mike Morrissey singled to center field, went to second when
Casey McIntosh was hit by pitch and the bases were loaded with no one out when
Kevin Callahan walked,
Ryan Hopp forced Morrissey at home for the first out before
Kraig Ladd reached on a fielder's choice, driving home McIntosh.
But No. 20-ranked Carthage, who improved to 13-8 overall and 5-2 in the CCIW, scored four in the first and seven in the second to take a commanding 11-1 lead. IWU did battle back to close to 11-5 with three fifth inning tallies on two hits.
Freshman
Anthony Lopez reached on a shortstop throwing error to open the inning and Morrissey was hit by a pitch before McIntosh singled to left field to load the bases again with none out. After; Callahan struck out swinging, Hopp singled to center field to bring home Lopez and Morrissey. Ladd flied out to centerfield before
Mark McDermott was hit by a pitch to load the bases before McIntosh scored on a wild pitch.
Titan pitchers were roughed up for 20 hits and all 16 runs were earned. Losing hurler
Joe Sweeney allowed five runs on six hits in the first and senior lefty
Joe Froelich lasted only 1/3 of an inning, allowing four runs on three hits and a walk.
