BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team stands at 5-6 after a 9-2 win over Franklin and an 8-4 loss at home to Concordia Chicago on Saturday, March 27.

In the win over Franklin, five players had two hits each as IWU banged out 13 against Grizzly pitching. Seniors Brett Moore and Casey McIntosh, sophomore Kevin Sullivan and freshmen Anthony Lopez and Zach Scott each had a pair of hits and Sullivan had a home run while Moore, McIntosh and Lopez each had doubles.

Jason Pankau improved to 3-0 as he pitched seven solid innings, scattering eight hits and walking only one while striking out seven and allowing one run.

In game one, the Titans banged out 11 hits, including three from freshman Kevin Callahan, two from Moore and Mark McDermott and a grand slam from McIntosh that tied the game at 4-4 in the seventh.

The Cougars (12-2) scored four with two outs in the ninth on a grand slam home run of their own from Brandon Isaac, scoring Steve Brown, Eric Ignatowksi, and Nick Skala, all of whom had walked.

Titan senior Brent Kulavic pitched eight innings and allowed eight hits, four runs, three earned runs and struck out six while walking four,

The Titans will face Franklin again at 2 p.m. Sunday.
