BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The No. 10-ranked Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team breezed to a 94-65 nonconference win over MacMurray at the Shirk Center on Saturday, Dec. 11.
The Titans, who had 15 players score, improved to 7-1 while the Highlanders fell to 2-4.
Illinois Wesleyan was led in scoring by
Ryan Connolly, who got a career-high 16 while seniors
Duncan Lawson and
Sean Johnson each added 11. Freshman
Victor Davis saw significant playing time and scored 10 points.
The Titans outrebounded MacMurray, 42-35, and were led by seven boards from senior
Doug Sexauer. Illinois Wesleyan's bench players outscored MacMurray, 67-19.
The Highlanders got 18 points from CJ McClellan and 11 from Jerel Robertson.
IWU, who led by a 49-27 margin at halftime, shot at a .486 percentage from the field (35 of 72) and connected on nine of 20 3-point free tries (.450). MacMurray shot .442 percent (23 of 52) and made five of 16 (.313) from beyond the 3-point arc.
Illinois Wesleyan will play next at Washington U. at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18.
