Titans at Thunder in CCIW Soccer Showdown

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - In a match featuring two top 10 ranked teams, the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team will battle Wheaton for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's NCAA Division III automatic qualifier Saturday at 5 p.m. at Wheaton's Joe Bean Stadium.

No. 1-seed Wheaton, the league's regular season champion, has an overall record of 18-2 and has won 14 straight matches while No. 2- seed IWU has an overall mark of 16-1-2.

The Titans, who are No. 9 in the national NSCAA/adidas poll and No. 7 in the D3soccer.com poll, advanced to the final game by earning a shootout decision after a 1-1 tie with Augustana on Wednesday night while Wheaton downed Millikin, 3-0, on Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Wheaton is No. 5 in the NSCAA/adidas poll and No. 4 in the D3soccer.com poll

During the regular season, Wheaton downed IWU by a 3-1 score in Bloomington and the Thunder holds a 20-2-1 edge in the series against IWU.

Per CCIW Tournament rules, only students from participating CCIW member schools will be admitted to the soccer games for free. Admission for all CCIW Soccer Tournament matches is $6 for adults, $3 for seniors and students and kids under 12 are free.

No CCIW parents passes shall be honored and students from CCIW schools with proper ID are admitted free of charge.
