IWU Claims Shootout After 1-1 Tie vs. Augustana

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team advances to play at Wheaton on Saturday in the finals of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament after earning a 5-4 shootout win following a 1-1 double overtime tie with Augustana on Wednesday, Nov. 3.

The No. 7 ranked Titans are 16-1-2 while the No. 11-ranked Vikings are 13-1-5. Illinois Wesleyan will meet Wheaton (18-2-0) at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6 to determine the league's NCAA automatic qualifier.

Augustana got the first goal of the match at 27:20 on a goal by Ashley Higuchi with an assist to Erin Coulson.

The Titans tied the issue at the 69:52 mark on a header by senior Annmarie Dolak, her second goal of the year, after a corner kick by junior Lauren Knaack.

After playing two scoreless overtime periods, the Titans got shootout goals from senior Alyssa Feulner, Dolak, freshman Tillie Bill, sophomore Emily Hinchman and the winner by Hoekstra.

Titan keeper Alli Novak made one save in the 120 minutes while Augustana's Kayla Radloff made six.
