BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The No. 3-ranked Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team lost for the first time this season, falling 3-1 to No. 9-ranked Wheaton at IWU's Neis Field on “Senior Night” October 27.
The Titans, now 15-1-1 and 4-1-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, are No. 3 this week in both the d3soccer.com and the NSCAA polls while the Thunder, winners of their 12th straight match, are No. 9 in the coaches' poll and No. 5 in the d3soccer.com poll. Wheaton improved to 16-2 and claimed the CCIW regular season championship.with the win.
The Titans' only score came at the 13:20 mark on an unassisted goal by junior Molly O'Brien, her 14th of the season. That tied the game at 1-1 as the Thunder had scored at 5:44 on a goal from Laura Karsten on an assist from a corner kick by Katelyn Kishkunas.
The Thunder scored again at 58:35 when Karsten had her second of the night and fifth of the year, again on an assist from Kishkunas, who had her third assist of the night on the final goal of the game at 75:47 by Val Lelle.

Alli Novak made seven saves as the Thunder outshot the Titans, 14-8.
The Titans close their regular season on Sunday, Oct. 31, and will play next week in the CCIW tournament with the opponent and place yet to be determined.
