BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team lost a four-set match to Heidelberg on Saturday, Oct. 2 at the Shirk Center.
The Titans fell to 9-11 overall this year as they lost by scores of 16-25,20-25,25-22,20-25.
"In set three, we played the best defense I've seen so far this season," said IWU head coach
Kim Nelson-Brown. "The team needs to trust their teammates more and trust themselves that they are able to play like that all of the time. We made some progress as a team this weekend and I hope we can build on that for next week's conference match."
IWU plays at Augustana at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5.
For the second straight weekend, sophomore
Alex Hill was named to an all-tournament team. On Saturday, she had six kills, a dig and two blocks.
Freshman
Stephanie Buhrow led IWU with 11 kills and sophomore
Eryn Finet added 10 with senior
Lori Johnson contributing nine.
Senior
Teresa Kirk had 19 defensive digs and freshman
Sarah Blum had 17 while junior setter
Stacy Hassinger provided 38 set assists with eight digs.
