Titans, Emory Tie at 2-2

Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. - After falling behind, 2-0, in the first 18 minutes, the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team battled back to tie No. 22-ranked Emory, 2-2, in the Emory Tournament in Atlanta, Ga. on Sunday, Sept. 6.

The Titans (1-0-2) got a goal from freshman Emily Hinchman on an assist from Carlie Hoekstra in the 47th minute and then Hoekstra scored five minutes later to tie the game. Both overtime periods were scoreless.

IWU fell behind 1-0 at the 2:22 mark when Emory's Meghan McMahon, Meghan scored on an assist from Melanie Levy, then trailed 2-0 when Levy tallied after a pass from Hailey Morris.

The Titans outshot Emory, 21-10, with 13 shots in the second half. Junior goalkeeper Alli Novak made four saves.

IWU hosts Wisconsin-Whitewater at 5:30 on Thursday, Sept. 10.
