Box Score 4 Illinois Wesleyan finished with a 2-2 record at the Elmhurst Volleyball Invitational on Sept. 4-5. On Sept. 5, the Titans lost to Nebraska Wesleyan, 25-16, 26-10, 26-16, before defeating Lake Forest, 16-25, 25-20, 32-30, 25-16. Senior Emily Hagen was chosen to the all-tournament team.
DAY TWO RECAP
Against Nebraska Wesleyan, Hagen had 13 kills in 19 attempts for a .579 hitting percentage. Stacy Hassinger had 27 assists and Jackie Wrobel contributed 14 defensive digs. The Titans' overall hitting percentage was only .103 and the team had just two blocks in the match.
Amy VanDerVoorn had 12 kills and Lori Johnson added 11 while Hagen had nine in the win against Lake Forest, Hassinger had 37 assists while Wrobel had 20 digs and VanDerVoorn added 14 digs. The squad's hitting percentage was .250 with 47 total kills.
DAY ONE RECAP
The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team split a pair of games in its opening weekend at the Elmhurst Tournament on Sept. 4.
The Titans beat the University of Chicago, 25-22, 25-11, 25-17, before losing to No. 4-ranked Wis.-Oshkosh, 25-14, 25-19, 25-20.
Against Chicago, junior Lori Johnson and freshman Katie Henning each had seven kills and sophomore Stacy Hassinger had 27 assists. Jackie Wrobel had a team-high six digs.
In the loss to Oshkosh, Emily Hagen had eight kills in 15 attempts (a .400 hitting percentage) with four blocks. Hassinger added 18 assists and Wrobel made 11 digs.
The Titans play Nebraska Wesleyan and Lake Forest in the Elmhurst Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 5.
