Box Score With its 10th straight win, the Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team improved to 11-2 overall and 2-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with a 3-1 win at Elmhurst on Sept. 22.
The Titans won by scores of 12-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-20. Junior
Lori Johnson and senior
Emily hagen each had 10 kills to pace the Titans while
Amy VanDerVoorn had seven and
Gaby Johnson added six.
Sophomore
Stacy Hassinger had 34 assists and 13 defensive digs and senior
Jackie Wrobel led IWU with 20 digs. As a team the Titans had 40 kills and a .225 hitting percentage compared to 41 kills and a .158 hitting percentage for the Bluejays (5-6, 2-1 CCIW).
"I was very impressed in how the team kept their composure after the first set loss," said IWU coach
Kim Nelson-Brown. "We stepped up our defense and settled into a better passing routine which allowed us the opportunity to run our offense more effectively. Elmhurst did a fantastic job countering and played some very scrappy defense."
