The Illinois Wesleyan men's tennis team finished fourth in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships, held May 1-2 in Kenosha, Wis.
The No. 3-seeded Titans defeated Elmhurst, 6-1, before losing to Wheaton, 7-2, and then Augustana, 6-3, in the third place match.
Tom Deschler, playing at No. 5 singles, and
Brian Piotrowski, playing at No. 2 singles, were unbeaten in singles play in the final matches at the tourney. Deschler beat Wheaton's Jordan Williams, 6-4, 7-5, and downed Augustana's Nik Lehnert, 6-3, 6-4. Piotrowski defeated Elmhurst's David Devaney, 6-1, 6-2, Wheaton's Ian Kirchner, 6-3, 6-4, and Greg Ruth of Augustana, 6-2, 6-3.
The Titans' dual match record was 11-10 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
