BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's tennis team evened its record at 5-5 with its fourth straight win, collecting victories over Monmouth (8-1) and Elmhurst (8-1) on April 4.
With the win over Elmhurst, the Titans are 1-0 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play.
Freshman
Brian Piotrowski improved to 12-3 in singles play overall as he won both his singles and doubles matches on Saturday, taking No. 2 singles wins over Monmouth's Sam Graf, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1, and Elmhurst's David Devaney, 6-3, 6-3. Piotrowski also teamed with
Michael Christison to win at No. 2 doubles over Graf and Tyler Lampe of Monmouth by an 8-5 score and a win over Elmhurst's Devaney and Robert Korsch, 9-7,
Christison is now 6-3 at No. 5 singles while freshman
Steven Hayman is 7-2 at No. 6 singles and senior
Paul Oehrlein is 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
The doubles team of Piotrowski and Christison is 10-2 overall.
