Joe Sweeney combined for a four-hit shutout as Illinois Wesleyan downed Millikin, 3-0, in the first game of a doubleheader at Horenberger Field on April 1, then
Jason Pankau pitched six innings of one-hit ball, striking out eight, as the Titans won game two, 12-2.
Tosi (1-0) struck out seven and walked three and Sweeney fanned three and walked one leading the Titans to their seventh straight win.
Junior second baseman
Brett Moore had two hits and junior centerfielder
Kraig Ladd had two hits with a solo home run.
Bob Huppert also connected on a solo home run in the second with Ladd.
In game two, IWU won their eighth straight and improved to 13-5 overall record (5-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) as the Titans pounded out 13 hits with home runs from Huppert,
Mark McDermott and
Ryan Hopp.
Junior first baseman
Casey McIntosh had a double and drove home five runs in the game shortened by the 10-run rule.
Millikin fell to 8-8 overall and 2-2 in the CCIW.
