Titan Baseball Loses To No. 6 Millsaps, 5-3

Box Score JACKSON, Miss. - The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team fell to 4-4 overall, losing a 5-3 decision at No. 6-ranked Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss., on Tuesday, March 17.

The Titans scored two unearned runs in the second inning and led 3-1 in the top of the sixth before the Majors scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth off losing pitcher Kevin Sullivan, who allowed two hits and walked three in an inning and a third.

Bob Huppert had two hits, scored a run on a steal of home in the second, and drove home a run while Mike Morrissey also had two hits.

The Majors improved to 20-2, the best start in the school's history, and used nine pitchers in the game. Illinois Wesleyan used eight hurlers.

IWU, now ranked No. 27 in the latest D3baseball.com poll, plays next at Christian Brothers in Memphis, Tenn., at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 19.
