No. 16 Men's Basketball Drops 68-60 Decision at Chicago

CHICAGO, Ill. -  The Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team had trouble finding the range in losing a 68-60 decision at the University of Chicago on Saturday, Dec. 5.

The Titans managed just 17 percent shooting from the 3-point arc (4 of 24) and 39 percent from the field overall (23 of 59) in falling to 5-2 this season while the Maroons improved to 5-1.

Illinois Wesleyan got 16 points from junior Doug Sexauer and junior Sean Johnson was the only other Titan in double figures with 14, all in the second half.

Wesleyan dug a 12-point halftime deficit at 36-24 and trailed by as many as 16 in the second half (42-26) before rallying to trail by only four at 50-46 after a Travis Rosenkranz 3-pointer with 8:01 to play. But the Titans got no closer than five the remainder of the contest.

Chicago committed 18 turnovers to 13 by IWU and the Titans outrebounded the Maroons, 35-31.

IWU hosts MacMurray on Saturday, December 12 at 7:30 p.m.
