Sadie Newton joins the Illinois Wesleyan women's lacrosse coaching staff after earning her degree in kinesiology and allied health from IWU in May 2026. She will enter her first season as assistant coach in 2026 after being apart of the team from 2022-2026. 

"We are so grateful and excited to have Sadie join our coaching staff this year,” Poulter said. “As a player on our team, Sadie was a standout midfielder and leader among her teammates. She brings a fresh perspective to the coaching staff and her knowledge of all facets of the game will be incredibly valuable to our team." 

Newton, a native of Bloomington, Ill., graduated from Illinois Wesleyan this past spring and was a three-year letterwinner on the women’s lacrosse team. During her time as a Titan, Newton became a two-time Second Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honoree while grabbing two CCIW Player of the Week nods; CCIW Defensive Player of the Week (Feb. 24, 2026) and CCIW Offensive Player of the Week (March 25, 2025). 

In her senior season with IWU, Newton set the single season program record for woman-up goals with eight and led the team with 34 goals and 68 draw controls. Newton also set multiple season highs and tied the program record for most woman-up goals in a game with three against Elmhurst on April 25, 2026. Newton finished her career with 79 goals, a .763 shot on goal percentage and 193 draw controls.
