Michael Triplett

  • Title
Assistant Men's and Women's Wrestling Coach
Michael Triplett joined the Titan Wrestling staff in October of 2024.

In his first year with the Titans, Triplett helped the men’s program to its first win in dual competition, taking a 43-12 win over Concordia Wisconsin at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Dual Championships in 2025.

Triplett's first year on staff of the women's wrestling team saw Triplett guide Sifa Feruzi to an All-CCIW performance at the conference championships in 2025. Feruzi became the first Titan in the women’s program history to claim all-conference honors, doing so with a third-place finish at 180 pounds.

Prior to joining IWU, Triplett coached at Normal Community for six years with a one-year stint at Lincoln College in 2020. He coached seven national qualifiers before the institution closed. Additionally, Triplett helped lead Normal Community to back-to-back conference titles in 2023 and 2024 — the first titles for Normal Community since 1989 — and had four individuals place at state meets.

Triplett, a Normal, Ill. native, was a four-year letterwinner and two-time 3A state qualifier for Normal West before wrestling collegiately at Loras College. A 2018 Duhawk graduate, Triplett was a four-year varsity letterwinner and qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships in 2016.
