Josh Miller

Josh Miller begins the 2026 soccer season in his first as an assistant coach under Kyle Schuals at Illinois Wesleyan.

Miller was born in Bad Windsheim, Germany and is a duel citizen of Germany and the United States. He graduated high school from Athens Area in Athens, Pennslyvania. He obtained his B.S. in Sport and Recreation Management. 

He fell in love with coaching in his college days when he helped the New York Red Bulls Youth programs. During his time with RBNY, Miller received his coaching license through the United States Soccer Federation where he obtained a B license. Miller brings experience with him to Bloomington, as prior to Illinois Wesleyan, he was an assistant coach at NAIA Walla Walla University. During his time in Washington, he earned his Masters of Education from Grand Canyon University. Miller made his way back to the East Coast to be the head coach at Notre Dame High School in Elmira, New York. After his stint as a high school coach, Miller gained more experience as an assistant through Delaware FC. Most recently, Miller was on staff at Binghamton University as Director of Performance Analysis in 2025. 

Miller is also a touring and recording musician. He has performed in over 350 concerts in 40 states and has traveled to 35 different countries.
