Henry Van Bogaert

Henry Van Bogaert became the third Head Women’s Bowling Coach in program history in August of 2023. 

Prior to his arrival at Illinois Wesleyan, Van Bogaert played an integral role in the institution of the men’s and women’s bowling programs at Lincoln College in 2019. He served as the assistant coach for two years before taking over as head coach in 2021. He served as the head coach of both programs until the institution’s closure in 2022. 

In the 2021-22 season, Van Bogaert led the Lincoln men’s bowling team to the quarterfinals of its NAIA National Qualifier Tournament in Chesterfield, Mo. Earlier that season, Van Bogaert coached Blaine Hunt to a fourth-place finish at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout, earning Hunt All-Tournament honors.

Van Bogaert has been bowling since he was 14 years old and bowled in various leagues since his collegiate years. 

In addition to his coaching roles, Van Bogaert has served as a firefighter and paramedic at the Naperville Fire Department since 2011. A 2019 graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Van Bogaert received his bachelor of science degree in Fire Service Management. 

Van Bogaert resides in Lincoln, Ill. with his wife Candace and his four children Noah, Alyssa, Charlotte, and Henry.
