Kristy Duncan became an assistant volleyball coach at Illinois Wesleyan in 2010 and also serves as an assistant to the athletic director at IWU.
A product of Warrensburg-Latham (Ill.) High School, Duncan attended Illinois Wesleyan for one year and played volleyball for Kim Nelson-Brown before transferring to Illinois State for their physical education program.
After graduating from ISU with a degree in physical education (with minors in health, social sciences and coaching), she was named the head volleyball coach at Tolono (Ill.) Unity High School and her 2008 team was 27-13 and placed second in the Illinois Class 2-A state championships. She also coached junior high volleyballi there for five seasons.
Duncan began coaching club volleyball (12 to 18) during her freshman year of college, and spent two years while at Illinois State as a junior varsity and varsity assistant at Maroa-Forsyth (Ill.) High School.
She obtained her master’s degree in sports management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
