Alex Ratcliff is in her first season (2009) as an Illinois Wesleyan volleyball assistant.
Ratcliff attended Champaign (Ill.) Central High School where she earned special mention all-state and first-team all-area and all-conference honors as a junior and senior. In 2003, her club team placed fifth at the AAU national championships and in 2004, her team became the first 18's team from Illini Elite to advance to nationals, placing 19th.
Ratcliff was ranked among the top 250 collegiate 2004 prospects by Prepvolleyball.com and attended Michigan State before transferring to Miami (Ohio), where she lettered three times, was named to the Mid American Conference all-freshman team in 2005 and the MAC all-tournament team in 2007 playing for the tourney champions.
As a freshman she had her career-high 21 kills in a four-game match with Northern Colorado in the Miami Classic. As a senior she had 14 double-figure kill matches, including two 20-plus kill performances, including tying a career-high with 21 kills in a three-game contest vs. Kent State.
