Stephanie “Rizzo” Alvarez-Rivera joined the Illinois Wesleyan softball coaching staff prior to the 2017-2018 school year.
Rizzo was previously the Athletics Communication Graduate Assistant at Carthage College in Spring 2017, where she assisted with game notes, social media oversight, statistics, weekly recaps and press releases. In addition, she assisted in the operation of CCIW Championship Tournaments and Meets.
Previously, she worked as the Senior Softball Manager for Carroll University in 2010-2014, where she was in charge of day-to-day operations such as practice and game set-up, equipment, travel, and team building.
Originally from Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, Rizzo graduated from Carroll University with her Bachelors in Psychology. She is pursuing her Masters in College Student Personnel Administration at Illinois State University and is a Graduate Assistant at the Student Engagement office at Heartland Community College, in addition to her position with Illinois Wesleyan.
Rizzo works primarily with social media, travel and game day operations.
