A 2014 Illinois Wesleyan graduate with a degree in elementary education and two-year softball letterwinner for the Titans, Danielle Burge joined the IWU softball staff in 2015.
As a senior she hit .327 average with team-high nine home runs, two of which came in an NCAAÂ Super Regional game vs. Wis.-Whitewater. She had six doubles, 24 RBI and led the Titans with a .644 slugging percentage. As a junior she appeared in nine games (started seven) before injuring her foot that kept her from playing the rest of the year.
In 2011 for Kankakee Community College, she had 22 home runs and 97 runs batted in and, playing for nationally-ranked Heartland College in 2012, she hit .468 with 30 home runs and 117 runs batted in. The 30 homers is second to the record of 32 set by Lacy Goodman of Phoenix CC in 2009 and the 117 RBI fell 10 short of NJCAA Division II season record.
Burge is a native of Tremont, Ill., and holds the high school record for home runs (29).
