In 2012, Tony Bauman will be in his first season as an assistant men’s soccer coach at Illinois Wesleyan University.

Since 2003 he has been the head girls soccer coach at Bloomington High School and was the Purple Raiders’ head boys coach from 2003 to 2011. At BHS his girls team was the IHSA regional champions in 2006 and the boys team was the 2005 regional champion.
He has also been a coach for the Illinois Fusion since 2007 and was director of coaching for the Bloomington/Normal Soccer Club Organization from 2005 to 2007.

From 1994 to 2002 Bauman was head boys coach at Penn High School in Mishawaka, Ind., where his teams had a 100-36-14 record and won the 1999 Indiana High School state title. Prior to that he served two years as an assistant coach at Elkhart (Ind.) Memorial High School.

Bauman was the Illinois Soccer Coaches District 11 “Soccer Person of the Year” and state finalist in 2009 and was the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association “Men’s Coach of the Year” in 1999.

Bauman is a 1994 graduate of Goshen College, where he was an NAIA academic all-district selection, and has a master’s degree in 2010 in school administration from the American College of Education along with a number of soccer coaching certifications.
