Dr. Lindsey Kellar, who served as the program's first-ever women’s lacrosse coach at Illinois Wesleyan University, is in her second year serving as Assistant AD for Student-Athlete Wellness in 2022-23. She also serves as the Associate Director of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at IWU.

Kellar leads the athletic department’s mental health initiatives, including the development of a Mental Health Action plan, an athletics Care Team, and the implementation of year-round programming. Through the Titan Mindset series, which are sports psychology-based sessions, she focuses on enhancing mental performance skills of IWU student-athletes. Kellar also works to drive department-wide participation in Green Dot training, NCAA DISC assessment programming, and monthly staff sports psychology sessions.


She has a eight-year record of 88-49 (.642 winning percentage) and a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin record of 31-11 (.656) with two league championships. She was chosen as the CCIW "Coach of the Year" in 2016, 2018 and 2019 and has coached a total of 34 all-conference selections.

Prior to IWU, she spent two years as an assistant coach at her alma mater. At Siena, she helped on Saints teams that qualified for the MAAC conference tournament both seasons and produced the program's first-ever MAAC co-“Defensive Player of the Year “ in Amanda Corso. Kellar began her collegiate coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She has been a head coach for the ADK girls lacrosse club, the Albany Elite, and Albany Power club lacrosse teams.

A native of Niskayuna, N.Y., she had one of the finest careers in Siena women's lacrosse history. At the time of her graduation, she was the program's all-time leader in points (153), goals (120), and draw controls (111). As a senior, she was named to First Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference after breaking the school's single-season record with 65 points.

Kellar, who also teaches classes in psychology at Illinois Wesleyan, graduated from Siena College in 2009. She earned her doctorate in educational psychology at the University at Albany in 2014 and more recently completed a certificate in sport psychology in 2021.

She and her husband, Michael Kellar, are the parents of Graceyn, Hadley, and a soon-to-be third daughter.
