In 2015, Rico Wallace is in his first season as an assistant football coach at Illinois Wesleyan University, working with the tight ends.

Wallace is a 2012 graduate with a degree in sports management from Shenandoah University, where he was a four-year letterman as an all-conference wide receiver and holds a number of school season and career records, including most receptions in a career (189), season (67) and game (12); career (3,287) and season receiving yards (1,241); and TD catches in a season (14) and game (5).

Although he did not play professionally due to medical reasons, he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Carolina Panthers in 2012 and with the Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League in 2013. After being released each of those years he returned to Shenandoah where he served as an assistant wide receivers coach.

Wallace is currently pursuing a master's degree in sports psychology at Illinois State University.
