BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team will travel to Rockford University Wednesday, Sept. 9 to conclude its season-opening road trip. 

The Titans dropped their contest against Wabash College, 2-0, Saturday, Sept. 5. Wabash was quick to strike early in the first half to take a 1-0 lead before the game was delayed due to inclement weather in the area. The Titans came back in the second half to find an equalizer but were short before Wabash came to make it a 2-0 in the 57th minute. 

The Titans and Rockford are even in its all-time series splitting 1-1. The two teams first met in 1987 before meeting once again in 2024. IWU came out with the 3-0 win in its last meeting at Neis Field. 

Rockford finished last season 2-15-1 overall and 1-11 in the Northern Athletics College Conference. Rockford has since started its 2026 season with two wins, notching out a 4-3 win over Knox College. Senior Dasha Curiel leads the team with six goals and 12 points to start the season. 

The Titans will kickoff at 4 p.m. before heading to Neis Field for their home opener Saturday, Sept. 12 at 3:30 p.m. against Knox. Live coverage can be accessed here.
