Women’s Tennis Travels to Face Illinois College

IWU seeks fourth straight win over Lady Blues

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team travels for the first time this season, taking on Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill, Tuesday, Sept. 8. First serve is slated for 4:30 p.m.

IWU (1-0) defeated Lawrence University, 6-1, Saturday, Sept. 5. The Titans swept the doubles point and won five of the six singles matches including straight-set wins from senior Olivia Bell (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington), sophomores Adia Douglas (Flossmoor, Ill.-Homewood Flossmoor) and Elana Religioso (Mahomet, Ill.-Mahomet Seymour), and freshman Alassea Michel (Dunlap, Ill.-Dunlap).

The Lady Blues sit at 0-1 on the year, dropping their season opener to Millikin, 4-3, Sept. 2. The Titans have defeated IC in the last three meetings including a 4-3 win, Sept. 8, 2025. In the match, IWU took all three doubles matches and singles wins from senior Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood), Douglas, and Religioso.
