Women’s Tennis Falls to Augustana

IWU faces Millikin Wednesday

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team fell to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe, Augustana College, 6-1, Saturday, Sept. 12 at Evergreen Racquet Club. IWU slides to 1-2 (0-1 CCIW) while Augustana improves to 1-1 (1-0 CCIW).

In doubles, the Titans got on the board with a 6-2 win from sophomores Adia Douglas (Flossmoor, Ill.-Homewood Flossmoor) and Elana Religioso (Mahomet, Ill.-Mahomet Seymour) over Sofia Carr and Analia Pazmino. However, Augie won the other two matches, securing the point.

In singles, Douglas collected the lone win, beating Sofia Carr 6-2, 6-2 on court six. Douglas improves to 3-0 this year in singles matches.

The Titans remain at home against Route 51 rival, Millikin University, Wednesday, Sept. 16 Action is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Evergreen Racquet Club.
