BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team will conclude its stretch of three straight away contests at Wabash College Wednesday, March 25. The Titans (5-4) will make the trip to Crawfordsville, Ind. to take on the Little Giants (2-6) at 4 p.m. ET at Fischer Field.

Illinois Wesleyan enters the contest looking to snap a two-game losing streak, most recently falling at Pfeiffer University, 12-10, Tuesday, March 17. Junior Jake Kahoun (Worthington, Ohio-Thomas Worthington) led the offense with three goals for a team-best three points. Senior Michael Rocco (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville) notched a team-best seven faceoff wins, and tied for the team-high with five ground balls alongside sophomore Wyatt Hart (Littleton, Colo.-Valor Christian). Hart also led the defense with three caused turnovers. In goal for the Green and White, sophomore Jaymeson Zackery (Saint Paul, Minn.-Eastview) made 17 saves.

Through nine games, junior Timothy McHugh (Orland Park, Ill.-Mount Carmel) is IWU's leading scorer. His 28 points are composed of a team-high 12 assists, while his 16 goals rank second. Timothy McHugh needs just two assists on Wednesday to eclipse the 100 career assist mark, as he would become the seventh Titan to do so. Kahoun ranks second on the squad with 23 points, aided by a team-leading 20 goals. Freshman Holden Webster (Centennial, Colo.-Arapahoe) rounds out the top three with 15 points, led by 13 goals, the third-most on the team. Sophomore Charlie Burghardt's (Milwaukee, Wis.-Brookfield Central) eight assists land him behind TImothy McHugh for second on the team.

At the X, Rocco leads the way with 72 faceoff wins, coming on a 72-of-132 showing, good for a faceoff win percentage of .545. Sophomore Matt Arnold (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Prospect) follows with a 44-of-90 mark, bringing in a FO win percentage of .489.

Defensively, senior Billy McHugh (Orland Park, Ill.-Mount Carmel) leads the team with 21 caused turnovers. Four Titans are tied for second, as seniors Karsten Nordlie (Roscoe, Ill.-Hononegah Community) and Kaden Gammelgaard (Lake Zurich, Ill.-Lake Zurich), Hart, and freshman Tyce Baldwin (Aurora, Colo.-Grandview) have all forced 12 miscues. Together, the group leads a defense that ranks fifth nationally in caused turnovers per game with an average of 14.89. Zackery leads the Titans in ground balls, having scooped up 38 on the season. Timothy McHugh follows with 30, while Nordlie and Rocco closely trail with 29 ground balls apiece.

In goal, Zackery leads the way with 109 saves over 510 minutes between the posts. He brings in a record of 5-4, along with a .540 save percentage, as he has kept the Titans in contention in all of the close contests this season.

IWU and Wabash will meet for just the second time, with the inaugural matchup occurring a season ago. The Titans defeated the Little Giants, 11-6, inside Tucci Stadium March 5, 2025. The trio of Gage Black, Bob Boone, and now-assistant coach Ike Eastburn led the offense with three points apiece. Black and Eastburn each net a hat trick, while Boone recorded two goals and an assist. Nick Schroeder dominated at the X, going 11-of-16, and scooped up a team-high six ground balls.
