ORLANDO, Fla.- The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team swept Shippensburg University, 7-0, Tuesday, March 17. The Titans improve to 10-6 while Shippensburg drops to 3-5. With the victory, IWU is guaranteed its first winning season since 2010-11, and its first under the direction of head coach Jason Van Heuklon. 

Juniors Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) and Olivia Bell (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) defeated Corinne Markovich and Jade Miller, 6-3. IWU secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win from sophomores Gabi Lipske (Gurnee, Ill.-Mundelein) and Katie Van Heuklon (Normal, Ill.-Normal West) against Rachel Gallagher and Brinley Orris in the No. 2 doubles spot.

In singles play, Ehrlich breezed by Yasmin De Meyer, 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Lipske defeated Gallagher 6-0, 6-3 at the second singles spot. Van Heuklon bounced back after dropping the second set in a tiebreak, winning 7-5, 7-6 (4), 10-8 at No. 3 singles against Orris. At four singles, Bell won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4 over Ava Kalist. Freshmen Adia Douglas (Flossmoor, Ill.-Homewood-Flossmoor) and Elana Religioso (Mahomet, Ill.-Mahomet) each snagged straight set wins at five and six singles, respectively. 

IWU wraps up its spring break trip tomorrow against Crown College. First serve is slated for 8:30 a.m. ET.
