ELSAH, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team defeated Principia College, 5-2, Saturday, Feb. 21. The Titans improve to 8-5 while the Panthers slide to 0-2.

The Green and White swept the doubles slate. At the top spot, juniors Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) and Olivia Bell (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) defeated Saray Cisneros and Kimbeley Peterson, 6-1. At  No. 2 doubles, sophomores Katie Van Heuklon and Gabi Lipske (Gurnee, Ill.-Mundelein) took down Mafe Quintero and Sophia Marvin, 6-3. The freshmen tandem of Adia Douglas (Flossmoor, Ill.-Homewood-Flossmoor) and Elana Religioso (Mahomet, Ill.-Mahomet) blanked Gislove Glokpoor and Serena Nanyonga, 6-0 in the third doubles flight. 

In singles action, Principia claimed the top two flights. At No. 3 singles, Van Heuklon won 10-3 in a third-set tiebreak over Peterson, 6-2, 2-6, 10-3. Bell closed in straight sets at four singles against Marvin, 6-1, 6-1. Douglas defeated Glokpoor, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. Religioso remained perfect at 13-0 in singles play in her inaugural season with a 6-2, 6-1 victory against Amel Lyse Sero Keza.

The Titans are back in action, Sunday, March 15 for their spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. They begin a four-match slate against Coe College.
