BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - A pair of College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin wins pushed the Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball team to No. 13 in the D3hoops.com Top-25 poll released Monday evening, Jan. 19. IWU garnered 288 points to move up three spots from a week ago.
Illinois Wesleyan picked up a lopsided home win over Millikin University, Jan. 14, defeating the Big Blue, 76-48. The Titans then went on the road and upended Wheaton College, 77-71, Jan. 17. The victories boosted IWU's record to 12-4 on the season and 7-0 in the CCIW.
Three teams hauled in first-place votes, led by No. 1 NYU that garnered 19 and 618 points. Scranton pulled five top-spot nods to place No. 2 with 602 points, while the lone other vote went to No. 3 UW-Oshkosh (572). IWU is one of two CCIW schools represented in the poll, as Carroll University sits 20th.
The Titans head to Wisconsin twice this week, first for a midweek matchup with Carthage College Wednesday, Jan. 21, on the Marquee Sports Network. IWU returns to the state for a battle at No. 20 Carroll Saturday, Jan. 24.
