1/16/2026 1:30:00 PM

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - After opening its season with a win at Concordia University Chicago Thursday night, Jan. 15, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team will make its way to Wisconsin for three matches over the course of two days, Saturday-Sunday, Jan. 17-18. The Titans (1-0) will play two at Edgewood College in Madison, Wis., Saturday, Jan. 17, before making the trek to Plymouth, Wis., for a dual with Lakeland University Sunday, Jan. 18.

The Green and White will face the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to kick off the trip, as the two will begin at 3 p.m. IWU will then meet Edgewood on the court at 6 p.m. The Titans will conclude their trip with a 12 p.m. bout at Lakeland (1-2) the following afternoon.

Early into the season, IWU's offense is led by senior Jace Milka (Bolingbrook, Ill.-Plainfield East) with 16 kills, an average of four per set, on a .600 attack percentage as he committed just one error Thursday night. Sophomore Ethan Kuziala (Chicago, Ill.-Marist) sits second with 15 kills, averaging 3.75 per set, and ranks second on the squad in assists with 24. The sophomore registered the first double-double performance of his career against Concordia Chicago (0-1) behind his career-high in assists. Junior Brenden Reutter (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East) holds a team-best 28 assists, as he averaged seven per set in the Titans' opening contest.

On the defensive end, sophomore Ben Zima (Glen Ellyn, Ill.-Glenbard South) racked up a career-best 17 digs to lead the Green and White, an average of 4.25 per set. Sophomore Gavin Rohlwing (Tower Lake, Ill.-Barrington) and freshman Aydin Provost (Chicago, Ill.-Mount Carmel) made their presence known at the net, as the duo recorded six blocks apiece, an average of 1.5 per set.

IWU will meet UW-Stevens Point for the first time Saturday afternoon. The Pointers, who are in their third season of collegiate action, will take on The University of Olivet Friday night, Jan. 16, before making their way to Edgewood's campus.

Saturday evening's contest will be the fourth meeting between the Titans and Eagles. IWU holds a slim 2-1 advantage in the series, but Edgewood came away victorious in the last contest. Illinois Wesleyan stumbled in five sets Feb. 10, 2024. Jake Kougan led the team in kills and aces, with 15 and two, respectively. Vince DiCosola tallied a team-high 28 assists in the contest, while Milka led the defensive efforts with 20 digs. Javier Romano posted a team-leading four blocks.

The Green and White will face Lakeland for the third time in as many seasons, with IWU owning a 2-0 edge. Last year, the Titans defeated the Muskies in four sets Jan. 18, 2025. Kuziela totaled a team-best seven kills on a .421 clip in a display of a well-balanced offense for the Titans. DiCosola dished out 15 helpers to go along with a team-high eight digs. A trio of Titans finished with three blocks each in a defensive effort that saw LU limited to a .044 showing.
